'Scandal' star's style available to all with new collectionKerry Washington has helped launch a Scandal clothing line

This is a big week for fans of ABC's favorite "fixer." That's right, gladiators, Scandal's new season premieres this Thursday at 8pm.

But that's not the only big news for Scandal-obsessed aficionados. Now instead of just watching the crazy, twisting turns in Olivia Pope's life, you can also dress like her, too!

The Limited retail chain is now carrying some of those fabulous fashions worn by lead actress and red-carpet fashionista Kerry Washington.

Washington and show clothing designer Lyn Paolo work together on her wardrobe, which has Twitter heating up every week. Washington says they didn't start out to set fashion trends, but "I remember saying to a friend of mine that the clothes are like a character on the show." She added, "We really understood that we've never seen a woman like this before on television before and we wanted to make sure that she stood out and she was on the top of her game in every way, so the fashion was really important to Lyn and me."

Paolo says it was the fans who really inspired them to create a clothing line, especially those who took to social media to pay homage to Olivia Pope.

"People would dress as Olivia Pope and send us images or dress their baby as Olivia Pope," she recalled, "So we kept saying to each other -- what can we possibly do to help?"

The result? The first time there's been a design collaboration between a national retailer, a top rated TV show, a costume designer and a leading lady. Both Washington and Paolo played a very active role in designing the 42 pieces that will be available at the Limited. Both say they closely mirror the look Olivia Pope has become known for. But instead of expensive designers, these outfits will be affordable. They start at $49 and go up to $298.

Elliot Staples with The Limited says the pieces run the gamut from dresses, blouses and trousers to those drop-dead jackets and coats so key to Pope's polished look - no matter what the scandal!

Washington says they were created to mix and match, and create several outfits. She also admits her personal favorites are the capes. You can get a sneak peek at the new line here on our website.

And by the way, gladiators, almost no hints from Washington about what's coming up this season, beginning with where Olivia Pope went at the end of last season, when she took off on a chartered plane with a glass of wine in hand.

Will she be back to her life of crisis management in DC? And which man will she choose -- the President or the spy? Washington remained mum, except to say "I can only tell you that you will find out where that plane is going and it's really, really good!"
