Car stolen with sleeping teen inside in northwest Houston

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) -- A 14-year-old girl is safe after she was inadvertently taken during a car robbery in northwest Houston.

The keys were in the car in the 6300 block of Milwee when authorities say the suspect or suspects jumped in the car and took off, apparently not knowing the girl was in the car.

Houston police found the car on Highway 290 and Mangum Street in the parking lot. The teen was not injured and is now with her family, according to police.

No suspects are in custody. They got away before police arrived.
