Houston TranStar reported the incident on the Katy Freeway involving a heavy truck a little after 2 a.m.
It is unclear exactly what the semi was hauling, but two large pieces of cargo in wooden crates ended up on the highway, blocking traffic in several eastbound lanes for several hours. All lanes have since been reopened.
The bridge was hit last Wednesday, backing up traffic for hours.

This is the 75th time this bridge has been hit since the start of 2025, and the second time so far in 2026, according to TxDOT.
Eventually, TxDOT's plan is for I-10 to run over the 14-foot bridge, but construction on that project is not set to start until 2027 and finish up sometime in 2028.
