Dam ruptures at Bastrop State Park
Residents near a ruptured dam at Bastrop State Park are urged to seek higher ground

BASTOP, TX -- A dam at Bastrop State Park has ruptured and the office of emergency management is urging those near it to find higher ground.

Emergency officials say water will be draining down Copperas Creek. People on the eastern side of Tahitian Village should leave the area.

According to OEM, Highway 71 has flooded.
