HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The city of Houston has extended an agreement with Uber through the Super Bowl and announced the new transportation app, "Arro."

Arro is a centralized dispatching app where you can book a taxi or limo.

Arro will include 9,000 drivers on one app and it may be new to Houston, but it isn't new. It's been successful in other cities like New York and Chicago.

For some time, we've had Z-Trip in Houston. It's similar to Arro and offers riders the ability to book a taxi or black car now or later. They are currently under contract with a Yellow Cab fleet here in Houston.

Wingz is a ride option to get to and from the airport. They say they pride themselves on scheduling your driver in advance and knowing exactly how much your trip will cost without price surging. For example, to get to Hobby Airport from Minute Maid, it will cost $25. To get from Bush from Minute Maid, it's $36.

And "Get Me" is another ride share option. They also don't engage in price surging, but "Get Me" does just get you somewhere, it also gets you something. You can put in a delivery request. Just type in what you want in the app, and it's delivered. It could be food, a t-shirt, even lumber from the hardware store and your "Get Me" go-getter is on the task.
