Crash cleared on Eastex Fwy
A big rig that's been blocking traffic for more than 7 hours on the Eastex Freeway is finally cleared.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The northbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway at Lee Road are finally back open after a weather-related crash involving an 18-wheeler that had the road shut down for 7 1/2 hours Wednesday morning.

Authorities say a car spun out on the wet roads just after 3 a.m. The driver stopped the car in a moving lane of traffic and went to find help.

Officials say that's when the big rig carrying jugs of bleach slammed into the car. The driver of the big rig was not hurt. The driver of the car was not in the vehicle at the time and is also OK.

The big rig had been on its side blocking the freeway until a heavy-duty wrecker arrived to get the semi upright. The accident is cleared.
