YouTube's rankings for 2014 are out and the top 10 lists contains everything from pranks involving mutant dogs and devil babies to what is probably the cutest beer commercial ever made.

"You have to be creative," YouTube trends expert Kevin Allocca said. "You have to be surprising. You have to come at people with something they haven't seen before."

That includes the mutant giant spider dog, which tops the trending videos list with more than 114 million views.

"Prank videos are very popular on YouTube," Allocca said. "This is the biggest one of the year. And actually, the spider dog was one of the most researched Halloween costumes on Google this year.

Allocca also points out that you can subscribe to different channels to view more of a specific kind of video.

"Some of the most popular on our lists are coming from channels that produce videos regularly," he said. "They are not just producing one video and having it go viral. They are producing videos on a regular basis."

Also in the top 10 was the viral "First Kiss."

"It was one of the more artistic videos," Allocca said. "A filmmaker asks 20 people to kiss each other for the first time on camera. It was something that was very gripping for people. They reacted to it en mass."

Allocca says music videos draw millions of viewers and are played billions of times, and Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" came out on top this year.

Enrique Iglesias' video for "Bailando" was another hot video.

"When artists are able to capture that in video form, in a compelling way, it really resonates with people all around the world," Allocca said.

Topping the trending list of ads are two from Nike Football called "Winner Stays" and "The Last Game."

And yes, there's the Budweiser Super Bowl ad with the horse-and-dog best buds.

"This is the fourth year that we have actually had a Super Bowl ad make our top 10 trending videos."

And with 300 hours of video being uploaded every minute, YouTube claims, 2015 promises to be even more creative.
