HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Are you ready for some football? Texas has a Saturday full of college football ahead.

Tulane Green Wave (3-7) vs Houston Cougars (8-2) | FINAL SCORE: 30-18. The Cougars defeated the Green Wave 30-18 in their homecoming game at TDECU Stadium. The Green Wave have lost five consecutive games and are the only AAC football team without a conference win.

The Cougars explosive offense is led by the dynamic Greg Ward, Jr. On average, the Houston Cougars defense only allows 92 yards per game rushing 3rd nationally.

Houston coach Tom Herman - who's a rumored LSU coaching candidate - has the Cougars in position to finish strong. The Cougars were an early college playoff candidate with a season-opening win against the Oklahoma Sooners and rose as far as No. 5 in the AP Poll, and No. 6 in the Coaches Poll. Many Coogs fans were hopeful they could return to a New Year's Six bowl for the second year in a row. However; they fell from the rankings after their upset losses to Navy and SMU.

University of Mississippi (5-5) vs Texas A&M (7-3)| FINAL SCORE: 28-29. Texas A&M dropped a thriller to Ole Miss, losing 29-28 in another SEC showdown.

Baylor (6-3) vs #11 Oklahoma (8-2) | FINAL SCORE: 24-45 Baker Mayfield passed for 300 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score to help Oklahoma defeat Baylor. The Bears are on their first 3-game losing streak since the middle of the 2012 season.

#16 West Virginia (8-1) vs the Texas Longhorns (5-5) | FINAL SCORE: 20-24 Kennedy McCoy ran for two touchdowns and West Virginia's defense withstood a final pass attempt into the end zone to earn a tough 24-20 win over Texas on Saturday that kept alive the Mountaineers' Big 12 championship hopes alive.

Southern University (7-2) vs Prairie View A&M (6-4) | FINAL SCORE: 34-44 Prairie View A&M suffered its fourth loss of the season, eliminating them in Western Division contention.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions (1-9) vs. Texas Southern (4-6) | FINAL SCORE: 27-10 Texas Southern defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a Southwestern Athletic Conference showdown. A key play for the Tigers came with kicker Eric Medina completed a 34-yard touchdown pass to defensive lineman Elie Nabushosi on a fake field goal attempt in the third quarter.
