HOUSTON -- Rockets forward Ryan Anderson will miss Sunday's game against the Thunder with a right ankle sprain.

Anderson suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter of Friday's victory over the Pelicans. Anderson stepped on the foot of forward DeMarcus Cousins while challenging a shot and landed face first. The two were in a physical battle during a contentious fourth quarter, where the referees reviewed several common fouls as possible flagrants. Cousins said Anderson was flopping during some of the foul calls.

"Our game plan was to force Cousins to go baseline," Anderson said Friday night. "He went baseline, we doubled him from the baseline and he tried to flail and get a foul call. When he was flailing, I thought he was going to shoot the ball, so I jumped and I landed on his foot and just twisted my ankle. It happens."

This will be the fifth game Anderson has missed this season due to injury. Last year, Anderson missed 16 games because of health reasons when he played with New Orleans.

In three meetings against the Thunder, Anderson has averaged 13.3 points and shot 38.5 percent from the floor. The Rockets could start Eric Gordon or Sam Dekker against the Thunder.
