Pearland All-Stars honored during Astros game

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Pearland's outstanding Little Leaguers suited up one more time and headed to Minute Maid Park Wednesday night, not to play, but to be honored.

Players from the Pearland East Little League All-Star team took the field before Wednesday night's Astros game to be honored for their performance at the Little League World Series.

"The kids were ecstatic they were actually gonna get to walk on a major league field. They've all got aspirations and dreams of coming out here and playing. And this is one short step for them, hopefully," assistant coach Vince Gabino said.

Orbit, the Astros Mascot, welcomed the team onto the field where they also met some of the Astros players.
