Coach Mike Brey suffered a calf injury early in the second half of Notre Dame's Sweet 16 win over Wisconsin.

The Fighting Irish coach required treatment after the game, including an ice wrap he was seen wearing as he hobbled through the stadium tunnel.

"The whole second half, I'm limping around," Brey told reporters with a laugh after the game. "I played hurt. I played hurt."

Brey said he felt the injury as he was jumping around with 15 minutes to play and initially thought it was to his Achilles tendon.

Notre Dame advanced to play North Carolina in the Elite Eight with the 61-56 win.

"It's unbelievable," Brey said. "But I think I'm going to be ready Sunday."
