HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A former NFL player and local athlete is facing more legal issues after he was arrested for possession of drugs near a school.

According to charging documents, Johnny Jolly was in possession of hydrocodone when he was arrested on Aug. 14 near the Intelligent Minds Development Center.

He was charged with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a drug-free zone. Jolly was released Aug. 16 on $20,000 bond.

Jolly, who played at Forest Brook High School and Texas A&M before before playing with the Packers from 2006 to 2009, was sentenced to six years in prison in 2011 on drug charges.

He was given shock probation a year later and made a brief comeback in the NFL with the Packers in 2013.

In an interview with ABC13 in 2012, Jolly admitted to his addiction to drugs and "purple drank."

Jolly is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 28.
