Body cam footage of Jaelen Strong's arrest released
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The body cam video of Houston Texans wide receiver Jaelen Strong's arrest shows he had a package filled with marijuana hidden inside his pants. Police released the arrest footage Friday.
Strong was arrested Sunday night in Scottsdale, AZ., after the Maserati he was in was stopped for not having visible license plates. During the stop, an officer said he could smell marijuana.
"We can play easy or play hard," the officer is heard saying in the video.
Strong was arrested for a misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Police say Strong admitted being in possession of marijuana, and gave them three marijuana cigarettes.
Earlier this week, the Texans released a statement addressing the arrest:
"The Houston Texans are aware of the incident regarding WR Jaelen Strong in Scottsdale, Ariz. We are disappointed in the choices Jaelen made to put himself in this situation. We will have no further comment at this time."
