HOUSTON -- Astros outfielder George Springer was placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list Wednesday after he was evaluated a day after crashing into the wallwhile making a spectacular catch.

Springer left Tuesday's game after making the catch for the last out of the seventh inning. Springer slowly came off the field under his own power and was replaced the next inning.

"That was a scary play," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said Wednesday. "Everybody has seen that before, when he's flying into the foul wall last night. He's going as hard as can be tonight, and he's pretty banged up. ...

"He did hit his head on the wall. You could tell he was a little bit dazed and he was going full speed when he did it. Complete disregard for anything but trying to catch the ball. That's the way he plays."

Springer is hitting .192 with four home runs and 12 RBIs this season. Colby Rasmus replaced him in the lineup.

Houston will select the contract of outfielder Preston Tucker from Triple-A Fresno, and he will join the club Thursday in Los Angeles, where the Astros start a four-game series against theAngels. Acorresponding move will be made Thursday.
