HOUSTON (KTRK) -- He's tall, dark and handsome, and he's looking for love.

Joshua, a male Masai giraffe, became the Houston Zoo's newest bachelor at the barn last week, moving to the Bayou City from his old digs at the Virginia Zoo.

The Association of Zoos and Aquariums along with Joshua's keepers have high hopes the giraffe will connect with the ladies and sire calves.

Lucky for Joshua, his arrival comes only days after Miles, a 7-year-old Masai giraffe, moved from Houston for a zoo in South Carolina.

If you've been to the Zoo in recent years, Miles was a regular visitor to the giraffe feeding platform.

For now, Joshua plans on spending the next month on a retreat to the giraffe barn, meeting the eligible bachelorettes and getting to know the zoo.

We'll let you know when he's ready to make his public debut.
