HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The tiny living movement is moving into the heart of Houston.
A planned 24-story building, The Ivy Lofts, is set to go up just off Leeland Street. The almost $150 million project is quickly coming to life.
Their tiniest unit, nicknamed "Tokyo," is just over 300 square feet.
Jason Franklin is leading the effort to sell the complex. He recently took our own Steve Campion on a tour of the model condominiums. They're outfitted with modular furniture, including Murphy beds which turn your living room into a bedroom.
"This speaks to a lot of what the tiny house movement does on a much more grand scale," said Franklin. "This is not a product for everyone. I've jokingly said there are 5 million people in Houston. I only need 500."
The starting base price for a so-called "micro-condo" at the Ivy Lofts lists for almost $120,000. For more information about the project, theivylofts.com.
