HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A child was dropped off in a car seat outside a fire station on Houston's southside this morning.

It was around 9:30 a.m. when firefighters at Station 21 were in district training and heard a baby crying. As they came downstairs, they found an approximately one-year-old male toddler.

The toddler was left in a car seat with cereal and a diaper bag.

The baby was transported to Texas Children's Hospital for evaluation. Children's Protective Services has been notified and now involved in the case.
