Thieves bring toddler as they steal money at car wash

A trio of car wash thieves brought a toddler along with them to the crime scene, even stopping to change the child's diaper

LENOIR COUNTY, NC (KTRK) -- A group of thieves brought a todder along with them while they stole coins from a car wash.

Surveillance video shows a mid 2000 Mercury Milan pulling into the North Carolina car wash. Two men then get out the car and inspect the self serve coin operated machines.

Minute later, a toddler gets out of the car and decides to get some exercise while the two men used a saw and crow bar to pry open two coin machines. They caused about 5000 dollars in damages.

The robbery took about 10 minutes. During that time, a woman who was in the car gets out and is seen changing the child's diaper, using the truck lid as a changing station. The car wash crooks left the dirty diaper at the crime scene.

The car wash is now offering at $1,000 reward for information leading to arrests.
