Son discovers father shot dead in north Houston

A father was found shot to death in home in north Houston.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston Police are investigating a homicide in north Houston on Estrellita.

Investigators say a man was found shot to death inside of a home around 2 a.m. on Saturday.

Detectives say the victims son discovered his father dead inside of his father's bedroom.

They say it appears the man was sleeping when he was shot.

Neighbor's describe the man as a kind person.

"To me he was a nice person, a hard worker, I see him everyday go to work in the morning," said neighbor Jose Guevara.

Investigators say the man's son is devastated and can't think of who would do this.

"He told me he had no enemies. He was a hard working man and he can't think of any reason for this to happen to him," said Sergeant Hector Garcia with the Houston Police Department.

Officers are investigating it as a possible home invasion. Detectives say the home appeared to be ransacked.

Officers don't have any suspects descriptions at this time.

They say once they discover what, if anything is missing in the home it may help determine a motive.

Officers believe the victim was shot sometime between midnight at 2 am.

No one was home at the time of the shooting.
