SHENANDOAH, TX (KTRK) -- A small plane has crashed this afternoon in Shenandoah.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says around 12pm today, a 1963 Cessna 172 airplane crashed in the Woodforest Bank Stadium parking lot in the 19000 block of David Memorial Drive.

The pilot is identified as Michael Wade Durr, of Houston. Authorites say Durr left Weser Airport between 10-10:30am and flew to Cleveland, refueled and headed back to Weser when his engine quit.

Durr said he contacted Hooks Airport and said he had engine failure just before he crash landed in the parking lot.

Only Durr was in the plane. We're told he was treated by emergency personnel and released.
