TEMPE, AZ (KTRK) -- A father is furious after a teacher at his son's school wrapped the boy's legs in duct tape.
Destin Howato says he wants the teacher arrested, but officials at the Arizona school say the teacher had permission from the boy's mother.
Armando Howato, 11, has autism, and doctors say he has the mental capacity of a second grader.
Last week, his father says a teacher at Aces East School in Tempe wrapped his legs in duct tape.
The school has released a statement admitting the teacher did duct tape Armando's shoes to his legs.
But, the school also claims Armando's mom says it was okay to use duct tape on his shoes, because he repeatedly kicked them off.
"I'm furious. I'm mad," Destin Howato says. "I don't believe anybody's kid should be duct taped at all. I mean, this is a school that is supposed to be there for our special needs children."
The teacher involved is on administrative leave pending their investigation.
