Police: Drunk man playing with gun accidentally shoots wife

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police say an intoxicated man playing with a gun accidentally shot his wife.

The shooting happened overnight at a home on Bostic and West St., in north Houston.

Investigators say the man was playing with the gun when it went off. The bullet went through the wall, striking his wife.

She is in stable condition.

The man was arrested on assault charges.
