Photo shows teens toes in baby's mouth
Police and social services are investigating a day care operation in Gaffney, South Carolina after a picture surfaced on social media.

GAFFNEY, SC (KTRK) -- Police and social services are investigating a day care operation in Gaffney, South Carolina after a picture surfaced on social media.

The photo, which was first posted to Snapchat, appears to show a 15-year-old teen sticking her toes into the mouth of a 7-month-old baby.

The photo was taken at a home in Gaffney, South Carolina where the child was being cared for, police tell WSPA-TV. The picture quickly circulated on social media accounts, grabbing the attention of parents who say they drop their children off at the home.

Neighbors say they thought the house operated as a day care, but police quickly learned the home is not registered with the state. The South Carolina Department of Social Service is now investigating to see if other children are being care for in the home.

The home now has a "no trespassing" sign in the front yard, WSPA-TV reports.

Police said the 15-year-old is not related to the baby in the photo. She isn't facing any charges, but neighbors want something done.

"Somebody should be apologizing, and there should be something done about it," said Bridgette Dawkins, who's is friends with the mother of the baby in the photo. "It don't need to be pushed under the rug; she needs to be punished."

Police say they've referred the case to family court.
