HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police arrested Joseph Jones, 51, for a sex crime dating back to 2008. Jones is charged with aggravated sexual assault of an adult.

According to prosecutors, Jones and another man followed a woman who was walking along Cullen Blvd at Bellfort St. The men approached the victim as she approached a convenience store, and according to court records, placed a piece of clothing over her head and forced her into their car. Prosecutors believe the men took turns raping the woman, threatening her and eventually forcing her back onto the street at Martin Luther King Blvd at Crestridge.

The woman was transported to Ben Taub Hospital by ambulance where a sexual assault kit was performed.

Last month, a routine DNA database search run from the Codis Lab identified a match between the DNA profile of Jones, compared to prior casework specimen, collected from that rape kit test.

Jones is being held without bond.
