Homicide investigation underway after body found in downtown Houston
Police say they are working to determine how a man died in downtown Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man made a disturbing find in the Buffalo Bayou this morning in downtown Houston.

Investigators told abc13 a man flagged down a Houston police officers after discovering a man's body floating in the water. The report came around 8:25am.

Detective Jerry Young said they found a Hispanic or white man's body shortly after near Louisiana and Congress. Young said it is not clear how the man died. An autopsy must be performed. Young did say the body was fully dressed, bloated, and recognizable.

"No injuries. No injuries on the body," said Young. He said he could not speculate if the man was homeless or whether the death might be related to the weather.
