Harris County Precinct 1 cracks down on sex trade
ABC-13 was the only media there as investigators conducted a sting at a Galleria-area hotel

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- In an upscale Galleria-area hotel, where rooms rent for several hundred dollars a night, a prostitution sting operation netted at least four arrests of women suspected of selling sex of money and the arrests of three men suspected of being their pimps.

The sting was conducted by Harris County Pct. 1 Constable Alan Rosen's office as a way to attack human trafficking, for which Houston has a reputation.

Among the four women arrested was one that Rosen says is only 17 years old. He says law enforcement has been looking for her for some time. She may have run away from home so no one immediately knew where home may be.

The women laughed as they were led to a constable's van, but we when we asked the girl if she was a runaway because she was only 17, the other women in the van all gasped.

One said, "Is that true baby?"

A woman who identified herself as Brandy said, "We made a choice to do this, but we don't condone children being brought into it."

Rosen says that sex traffickers often prey on the very young and runaways.

Although there weren't a large number of arrests in Tuesday's bust, he says this one makes it worth it.
