HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Firefighters worked overnight to battle a massive two-alarm fire at two buildings on the Gulf Freeway in southeast Houston.

The fire started around 2:30 am at the Furniture Bank on the 3700 block of the Gulf Freeway near Cullen. About 60 firefighters were called in to fight the blaze. One was treated for heat exhaustion.

Fire officials say they had a difficult time trying to fight the fire from the inside.

Houston Fire Department Deputy Chief Blake White said, "They are having a little, some trouble getting into the building, they are cutting some holes. They are staying defensive right now in one building - they can't go into that building right now, so they are hitting it from the outside."

And this is not the only fire at the furniture center. Firefighters were called out there last September for a possible arson.

The cause of this fire is under investigation.

No one was hurt.
