HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A one alarm fire gutted two four story residential buildings under construction.

The fire broke out overnight in the 2300 block of Dowling at McGowen, just southeast of downtown Houston.

The flames could be seen from blocks away as firefighters used a ladder truck to reach the top levels of the structures. A third structure is still standing, but it was heavily damaged during the blaze.

No one was injured.

Arson investigators are on the scene trying to determine how this fire started.
