A family woke up to armed men inside their southwest Houston home

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police say a group of men broke into a southwest Houston and robbed the family early this morning.

Police say they were called out to a home on the 10000 block of Villa Lee around 4:30am.

Investigators say the group of masked armed men stole cash, electronics and cell phones. The family, two females and three males, were home at the time, although we do not have their ages.

No one was hurt, but the woman who came to the door told Eyewitness News they were threatened and she wasn't comfortable saying any more.

A neighbor who did not want to use his name was concerned for the family.

"I'm pretty amazed and shocked that it happened. We've lived here for 16 years and never heard of anything like that," said a neighbor. "Hopefully, the police will take care of the neighborhood."

Police say the group left in a red sedan, but they don't have any additional descriptions or word on any arrests.
