SPRING, TX (KTRK) -- Police say a pizza delivery driver is in serious condition after he was shot while on the job in Spring.

The shooting happened in the 3000 block of Hirschfield Road.

Police say the 20-year-old victim had just delivered a pizza to the Timber Run Apartments when a suspicious car approached him. Two suspects go out and as the deliver driver tried to reverse and drive away, one of them opened fire at his car. The delivery man was shot in the chest. He was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in serious condition.

Some neighbors say they heard about three gunshots and called 911.

Investigators strongly believe those men were attempting to rob the delivery guy but ended up with nothing.

The delivery man was slightly coherent but wasn't able to give police a good description. Police say the suspects' car was described only as dark colored.
