HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The search is on for a man who police say shot his son in cold blood in northwest Houston Friday night.
It happened in northwest Houston around 11:15pm inside the family's apartment on Kempwood near Springrock.
Police say the 18-year old intervened while his parents were fighting. The dad allegedly left the apartment. But police say he returned a short time later and shot his son three times.
One of the bullets went through a wall and struck a man in a different apartment while he was sleeping in his bed.
The neighbor and the son were both taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.
The father remains on the run. Houston police believe the man is still armed.
