HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The family of a girl who was sexually assaulted by a youth pastor is now suing the two churches where he worked.

Chad Foster was convicted of multiple counts of sex assault of a child and online solicitation in 2013. The victim's parents are now suing Second Baptist Church and Community of Faith Church.

Foster met the victim while working at Second Baptist and continued the assaults once moving on to Community of Faith Church. The lawsuit says the churches failed to perform adequate background checks, failed to train and monitor youth pastors, and failed to adopt and enforce rules to supervise youth pastors and their interactions with teens.

We reached out to both churches for comment. Second Baptist released a statement saying if they'd known of the allegations, they would have terminated Foster and ensure such conduct did not continue.

We have not received a response from Community of Faith Church.
