Carjackers injure two toddlers, send SUV into apartment in SW Houston
Police are looking for four men accused of ambushing a family and then leaving behind a big mess after a carjacking.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It was a violent carjacking that ended when 4 suspects crashed the SUV they had just stolen.

They hit a parked car, sending it into an apartment.

Houston police say four men ambushed a family around 11:30pm as they got out of their white SUV at an apartment complex on Skyline Drive at West Greenridge Drive, near Richmond Avenue.

The family was getting out of their white SUV and they were approached by 4 males," says Houston Police Sgt. Larry Crowson. "The males made the adults... and a 1 and 2-year-old... and pushed them out of the car basically."

But police say the carjackers did not get far.

They slammed the stolen SUV into a storage unit, and hit a parked car with enough force to send it into Raquel Juarez's apartment.

"They called me at work that a car went into my apartment," Juarez says. "It's flooded and I have no idea where is the people that did it. I don't know what is going to happen with my apartment. Is the office going to put me in another one?"

Police say the four suspects then ran off and the family was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

"They took the kids to the hospital to get checked out," Crowson says. "It is my understanding they had cuts and abrasions."
