Headed out this weekend? Take a look at road closures

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- TXDOT says we'll see an increased number of weekend closures this Saturday and Sunday as many of them were postponed recently due to bad weather and flooding. Many of the closures start Friday night and last until rush hour begins Monday morning.

One of the most significant closures for summer vacation-goers will be on the Gulf Freeway. The closure is southbound from El Dorado to Bay Area Boulevard starting Friday at 8pm and reopening Monday morning. Highway 3 may be a good alternate route.

On the Katy freeway, the ramp to I-45 northbound is closed all weekend, but using the Eastex freeway may not be a good idea. The Eastex will have three lanes closed northbound this weekend from Crosstimbers to Laura Koppe.
