Anthony Taylor says he dropped off his grandson at the Nordic Arms apartments on Thursday afternoon.
At around 9:30pm the next day, the boy was killed. At some point before the shooting, it is believed the victim discovered a pistol inside the home.
Taylor says he doesn't know how the 10-year-old found the gun or how it was fired.

"If you have guns in the house, please put them in a safe," Taylor says. "Put them in lock boxes and put them where children can't get them, and be playing with them, because this is what happened. If you don't that, this is the end result."
Now, Taylor says, they have to bury their loved one.
"He didn't even have a chance to get started in life," Taylor says.
