BAY CITY, Texas (KTRK) -- Bay City police are working to piece together a timeline of the final moments of a teen whose body was located following his disappearance two days ago.

The body of Devin Davalos was found near Lake Jackson in Brazoria County. Police say his killers drove him there in his own car and dumped his body near a boat ramp close to FM 2004 and County Road 400.

Davalos would have turned 18 on Sunday.

"It's just not like him not to come home," said his father, Derrick Davalos.

A missing Bay City teen was found dead on Friday.

His parents say he disappeared after he left work Wednesday night from the Diamond S restaurant in Bay City. The next morning, the burned-out shell of his car was discovered in a rural area outside the city off of Van Vleck Road.

"I'm not really worried about the car, worried about my son you know. Cars are replaceable," Devin's father said before his body was found.

Police can't say yet what happened. They say they only found Devin's body after getting information from suspects in an unrelated aggravated robbery case which occurred at a Bay City school. According to investigators, they learned several people were involved in shooting Davalos.

"It doesn't make sense," said his mother, Liza Davalos. "He wanted to go places and see things experience new things," she lamented. Those dreams, along with Devin's smile, are now gone.

Police say they've made no arrests yet in this case. If you know anything which can help, you can contact Detective Corporal Chris Hadash at (979) 245-8500.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to offset funeral costs.
