Celebrate National Coffee Day with free coffee

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- We know the feeling. It's Monday. You're just waking up. You can't do anything until you have that first cup of coffee.

Even the great Clark Gable once said "I never laugh until I've had my coffee."

Well good news. Today, you can get that precious cup of coffee for free. It's National Coffee Day and several retailers are taking part. They've been announcing their free coffee deals on social media.

One of them is Dunkin Donuts. The chain is giving away a free medium cup of its Dark Roast blend to customers today.

McDonalds also has free coffee. It's been giving away free small cups of coffee for the last two weeks, but today's the last day you can take advantage of the deal.

Starbucks is offering a free sample of its Anniversary Blend to celebrate, but this offer ends at noon.

Blacksmith coffee shop on 1018 Westheimer Road is also celebrating national coffee day. It's giving away free espresso and daily blacks until 7am. After that, you can get an espresso for just $2 until 5pm.

Outside of Houston, places like Tim Horton's, Caribu Coffee and Krispy Kreme are also offering free or discounted coffee deals.
