Mattress Mack hosts Christmas Eve giveaway for those in need
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Gallery Furniture and Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale hosted a Christmas Eve toy and shoe drive Sunday for local families in need.
The giveaway was held at two Gallery Furniture store locations: 6006 North Freeway and 7227 West Grand Parkway.
The company collected toy and shoe donations that were distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Mattress Mack said Vans donated 7,000 pairs of shoes. Samsung and Sprint sponsored the event.
This is just the latest in a string of donations and giving from Mattress Mack. Since opening his stores' doors to help displaced Hurricane Harvey victims, Mattress Mack has surprised fans with World Series tickets and hosted a Thanksgiving feast for the community.
