Enjoy Houston's best Happy Hours
Happy Hours are no longer just cheap beers and peanuts

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Happy Hour is no longer just BOGO drink specials for a couple hours in the afternoon while you're still at work. Now, restaurants have adapted their menus and deepened the discounts so there's something for everyone. Many places serve up specials seven days a week and include just as many food specials too.

Lupe Tortilla - Monday through Friday from 3-6:30 p.m.

ABC-13 viewer Gail Pearson says there are "free chips, salsa, queso and pinto beans and the friendliest, nicest and coolest bartenders" at the Atoscocita location. Highlights of the Happy Hour menu are $2.50 draft pints, $16.95 beer buckets, and $5 original margaritas.

TQLA - Monday through Saturday from 3-7 p.m. and all day Sunday

ABC-13 viewer Robert Santos says TQLA has the best duck tamales, and it doesn't hurt that all appetizers are half off! House margaritas are $4.50 Mexican drafts are $3 House wine $4 Well drinks $4.50 All tequila taps $2 off

Kona Grill

There are locations inside the Galleria and also in The Woodlands, and both offer Happy Hour food and drink menus with great deals. They have Happy Hour margaritas, sake and sake bombers, and wine specials.

The Pastry War - Monday through Friday from 4-6:30 p.m.

The Pastry War was named one of Esquire's Best Bars in America for 2014, but don't expect to find any pastries here. The tequila bar is known for its Mexican cocktails and beer. Margaritas are $5, along with $3.50 Mexican drafts during Happy Hour. There's also free games of pool.

Brennan's of Houston - Everyday from 2-7 p.m.

Viewers are big fans of Brennan's Courtyard Bar 7-7-7 Menu. The Triple 7 menu features seven appetizers, cocktails and wines for $7 each from 2:00 - 7:00 PM, seven days a week. These are great deals for the Cajun/creole fine dining restaurant. But the best deal may be their 25 cent martinis with the purchase of an entre weekdays until 3 p.m.

Ra Sushi - Monday through Saturday from 3-7 p.m.

Reverse Happy Hour - Monday through Thursday 10 p.m. - midnight

Ra also has a Reverse Happy Hour with similar food and drink specials Monday through Thursday 10 p.m. - midnight.

Little Woodrow's - Days and hours vary by location

There are six locations around the city, and the specials vary at each. But with as many as 50 beers on tap at each location, you can't go wrong! At the Bellaire location, Happy Hour is more like Happy Day because there are specials from noon to 7 p.m.

Cook and Collins - Monday through Saturday from 3 - 5 p.m.

Cook and Collins refers to its Happy Hour menu as Afternoon Delights, and they do not disappoint. They run deals on everything from burgers and flatbreads to desserts. The Mac and Cheese "Crab Rolls" and Fried Oyster Rockefeller Fondue caught our attention.

Lucky's Pub Downtown - Monday through Friday from 4 -7 p.m.

In addition to its daily specials, Lucky's always offers Happy Hour from 4 to 7 p.m. where patrons can get $2 domestic drafts and house wines and $3 wines. Lucky's is a favorite spot for pregaming because they offer shuttle rides to Toyota Center, Minute Maid, and George R Brown Convention Center. There are also Lucky's locations in the Heights and in Cypress with varying specials.

Santa Fe Flats - Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. and Friday/Saturday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

ABC-13 viewer MiMi Jones told us to check out Santa Fe Flats because it had lots of awesome specials, and we almost couldn't believe it. Their Happy Hour menu is drinks only, but lasts from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursdays and until 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. There are $2.50 domestic drafts and $3.50 margaritas, among other awesome drink deals.
