Baytown police discover suspicious device during traffic stop
An arrest has been made after police found a device which concerned them

BAYTOWN,TX (KTRK) -- Police had to call a bomb squad after they found something suspicious during a simple traffic stop.

The bomb squad and investigators are still at a gas station on Thompson Road, right off the Baytown East Freeway. The hours-long search is still underway.

Investigators confirm an arrest has been made, but for what we are not aware of just yet.

A bomb was detonated by the bomb squad

ABC13 has learned it all began as a traffic stop for outstanding warrants. When officers walked up to the vehicle, they say they saw narcotics inside the vehicle.

When officers began to search the vehicle, they came across a suspicious device.

At least one device was found and has since been detonated at the scene by the bomb squad.

A green car appears to be the subject of their investigation. A number of cases and other materials have been pulled from the vehicle, and can be seen laying on the concrete below.

A K-9 unit was also called to assist the bomb squad.

Again, it is not clear what has been found, but it was enough to lead police to arrest someone at the scene.
