HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- With much of Southeast Texas preparing for the winter storm this weekend, several school districts have announced after-school closures and cancellations.

The National Weather Service still has most of SE Texas, including Houston, under a Winter Storm Watch from 6 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday for the possibility of freezing rain. An Extreme Cold Watch is also in effect Saturday through Monday as colder air moves in, leading to a hard freeze and the chance of single-digit wind chills Monday morning.
