The Harris County Sheriff's Office said deputies served a search warrant on Friday in connection with Isaiah Phillip's death.
Lt. Dennis Wolfford said no arrests have been made, but detectives gained information that there may be evidence at a home on Wells Mark Drive connected to the murder.
The investigation began after Phillips was shot and killed Sunday night at The Henry at Liberty Apartments off Liberty River Drive.
According to the sheriff's office, there were between 25 and 30 teens present without parental supervision when gunshots were fired.
On Tuesday, Galena Park ISD released a statement confirming, "one of our students passed away Sunday night. This news is understandably devastating, and this tragedy will deeply affect the North Shore Senior High School and Galena Park ISD communities."
The district added its Crisis Response Team, and counselors are available for anyone who needs them.
