Sgt. Sidney Miller said deputies were called to a home on Rubilee Avenue in the Humble area around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
When they arrived, they confirmed one man was found dead and two others were facing non-life-threatening injuries.
"What we know at this point is that there was some type of party being thrown at a house in this area. My understanding is this party was organized, they had a paid booth at the front gate, people were paying to get in, there were like over 100 people out here, we're told," Sgt. Miller said.
It remains unclear how the victim died, but the other two victims were shot and are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries, according to Miller.
Investigators are trying to secure a search warrant for the home where the party was held, Miller said.
Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to reach out to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
