HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A 9-month-old pig on the loose made for a surprising sight in southeast Houston Monday afternoon.

At about 1:30 p.m., officers spotted the pig wandering the neighborhood at about the 7000 block of Linden Street.

The pig, named Bacon, was given crackers by residents and police until an officer with an animal control catchpole arrived to contain him.

Bacon was taken to BARC Animal Shelter. The owner told ABC13 she thinks her sister left the door open when Bacon escaped.

The owner could face a possible citation for having a pig in the city limits, but for now, she just wants her beloved pig back.

SkyEye was over the scene where police had contained Bacon in a corner.
