How would the Texans follow that up?
Well, when the draft resumed for the second of three nights on Friday, the Texans were slated to wait it out a bit.
Night two is when the second and third rounds unfold, and with the Texans choosing second overall, they would be assigned the second picks of each of the next six rounds.
Of course, jumping to the No. 3 pick with the Arizona Cardinals to choose Anderson has a cost, and for the Texans, it was the second pick of the second round, along with other future considerations.
General manager Nick Caserio, though, certainly made his mark in the second round, which he traded back into. With the 62nd overall selection, the Texans chose Penn State center Juice Scruggs, who's expected to be closely acquainted with Stroud.
The Texans sent out their second pick of the third round, as well as a pair of late-round picks during this draft, to the Eagles to make the Scruggs selection.
Houston continued dealing during the third round. The team picked up the sixth pick of the round, which it used on a homegrown prospect: University of Houston wide receiver Nathaniel "Tank" Dell.
