According to CenterPoint Energy, about 1,000 customers were still affected at about 8 p.m. Most of those outages were located on the northwest side of the city.
CenterPoint's outage tracker says thousands of customers had their power restored after about 6,400 of them were reported without power at about 4:20 p.m.
