Elderly victim among 3 women shot in Houston and Harris Co. within 10 hours

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Three women were shot in Houston and Harris County in just 10 hours, adding to the already violent incidents that have occurred in the area recently.

April 28 - southeast Houston

An elderly woman was found shot one time at a home on Mesa Verde and El Dorado around 3 a.m. in the Clear Lake area, Harris County Precinct 8 Constable deputies said.

The woman was taken to the hospital.

According to deputies, a domestic disturbance happened inside the home, and the woman was shot. The woman's husband has been detained, officials said.

A neighbor told our photographer at the scene that the couple has lived there for 35 years.

April 27 - north Harris County

Sadly, another domestic incident, this time fatal, involved a 29-year-old woman.

It happened around 7:40 p.m. at an apartment complex at 17111 Hafer Rd.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said a neighbor found the woman unresponsive on the apartment floor and called 911.

The woman appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the sheriff's office, the early stages of the investigation show that this was likely related to domestic violence.

The victim has not been identified.

April 27 - near Cypress

In this incident, a woman was shot in the neck around 5:30 p.m. in the 19600 block of Hardwood Ridge Trail.

According to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman, the woman was found with a gunshot wound to the neck.

It's unclear what led up to the shooting and details on a suspect were not immediately released. The woman's condition was also not released.
