HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Tropical Storm Boris is now the 2nd storm of the season to form in the eastern Pacific.

It sits about 125 miles south of Salina Cruz, Mexico and could bring up to 30 inches of rain over Mexico and up to 10" of rain over Guatemala.

Boris is drifting slowly north at 5 mph and not expected to strengthen much before landfall tomorrow.

Moisture from Boris will eventually move into the southwestern Gulf of Mexico, and there is a possibility a new area of low pressure could develop and then strengthen into a depression or storm in the Gulf later this week.

The odds of that happening over the next 5 days are only 20 percent, and the odds of anything moving toward Texas are even lower due to a blocking ridge of high pressure centered over the state.

We will continue to monitor the complex situation over the southwestern Gulf and notify you immediately if anything changes with our current forecast.
