Massive sinkhole forms in Rosenberg

ROSENBERG, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston and surrounding areas are in the middle of an unprecedented flooding emergency as Tropical Storm Harvey spun deeper into Texas on Sunday morning.

Under catastrophic flood emergency, a massive sinkhole has formed in Rosenberg. The sinkhole appeared in the 3900 block of FM 762. The sinkhole takes up at least two and a half lanes of traffic.

Sinkholes can form when the soil has higher moisture content. The constant rain means more sinkholes may form.

Authorities are urging people to stay off the roads.
