HOUSTON (KTRK) -- As millions of Americans hit the road this week for Thanksgiving travel, a highway group is out with its worst bottlenecks in the country.
The most congested stretch of freeway in the nation, according to the American Highway Users Alliance, is a portion of I-90 in Chicago. The worst bottleneck in Texas is I-35 in Austin, which is ranked 10th worst nationally.
Three Houston freeway segments make the top 50 worst bottlenecks in the nation -- the West Loop between Richmond and Post Oak is ranked 22nd. The Southwest Freeway between Hazard and Buffalo Speedway is ranked 25th. And the Northwest Freeway between 610 and Mangum is ranked 34th.
